Careem Pay, the digital payments platform within the Careem app, has brought its international money transfer service to Jordan, according to a press release posted on Zawya.

The firm will enable UAE residents to send money directly to bank accounts in Jordan.

Careem Pay enables money transfers to several of the remittance corridors globally, such as India, Pakistan, the UK, Europe, the Philippines, Lebanon, and Egypt,

For the launch, Careem Pay is waiving fees on the first two transfers to Jordan for new users.

Subsequent transactions can be made with a fixed fee of Dh10 for amounts up to Dh25,000.

Careem Plus members receive additional benefits, such as zero fees on transfers over Dh1,500.

With Careem Pay, transfers to Jordan can be completed within 24 hours, and the service requires a valid IBAN for direct bank transfers in Jordanian Dinars.

Careem Plus subscribers have access to a suite of exclusive perks across Careem’s services.

To use the remittance service, users must download the latest version of the Careem app and select the ‘Send Money’ feature.

Mohammad El Saadi, VP of Careem Pay, commented: “Sending money home is one of the most meaningful things our customers do with Careem Pay. For many Jordanian expats, it’s about supporting loved ones, covering school fees, or helping parents with everyday expenses. We wanted to make that process simpler, faster, and more affordable.”

In February, Careem Pay added 18 new European corridors to its international remittance network.

Careem’s operational footprint spans over 70 cities in ten countries, ranging from Morocco to Pakistan.
